About Zach Dallas
Zach Dallas is a media and communications professional based out of British Columbia, Canada.
Zach graduated from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 2014 with a Diploma of Technology in Television and Video Production. While at BCIT Zach focused on camera operation, lighting, and production management. After graduation, Zach began to work in the Vancouver television news market but soon decided to complete his Undergraduate Degree. Building off of his diploma, Zach graduated in August 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Professional Communications from Royal Roads University in Victoria, B.C.
Zach has been an involved member of Scouts Canada for the past 16 years in the Lower Mainland. Starting as a Beaver Scout at age 7, Zach moved through the youth program completing the Chief Scout's Award, Queen's Venturer Award, and Duke of Edinburgh's Bronze, Silver, and Gold level awards. Throughout his time in Scouting, Zach has volunteered his time working with the younger youth in his Group and Area. Zach was an integral part of starting a youth-led service team for the Nicomekl Area, which hosts several yearly events and activities to keep the youth engaged in the program. As part of this team, Zach continues to be a lead organizer for an annual Santa Breakfast for Scouts Canada and Girl Guides of Canada members, which sees up to 700 participants over two days.
Additionally, in 2013, Zach took on the role of Editor-In-Chief for the daily camp newspaper for the 2013 Canadian Scout Jamboree at Sylvan Lake, Alberta. This paper was distributed daily to over 6200 people for seven days. In 2015 Zach volunteered as the co-team lead for the 2015 Pacific Scout Jamboree's Publicity Team. In this role, he oversaw the team of 15 teenagers and adults producing the daily camp newspaper. Zach also mentored the Design and Layout Editor throughout the production of the paper. In February 2017 Zach was asked to lead the Public Relations team for the 2019 Pacific Scout Jamboree.
Zach has a love for the outdoors and enjoys sharing this passion with others. He is a presenter for the Hug-A-Tree and Survive and Survive Outdoors programs, facilitated by AdventureSmart.
Zach is currently living in Prince George, British Columbia. He is working full-time for CKPG News as an ENG Camera Operator and Editor.
